McCOOK, Neb. — Let the wins start pouring in like wonderful cool crazy flash floods!

The McCook National Bank Seniors made it two straight with their 7-3 home win over Gothenburg’s Melons Wednesday evening.

A booming double from Bryson Gullion put the MNB storm clouds in motion with no Melon protection.

McCook (2-5 record) plated seven unanswered runs to turn a 1-0 deficit into the 7-1 lead during this three-inning deluge.

Gullion doubled again while Tristan Campbell drove home two key runs.

Carter Larson and Trenton Raile both delivered RBIs thanks to clutch MNB hits.

Quentin Terry’s deep sacrifice fly actually forced an early 1-1 tie.

Gave Roberts, Terry and Miles Pollmann also rounded the bases for coach Chris Conroy’s team.

The MNB Seniors have scored 19 times during these past two games as they earned their first win since 2021, 12-8, over Ogallala on Sunday. Familiar athletics foe Wes Geiken took the loss for Gothenburg. He pitched 4 1/3 innings.

The MNB Seniors continue a scheduled four games-in-five days homestand tonight against Holdrege (8 p.m.).
