McCook senior caps Class B state with a strong sweep

LINCOLN, Neb. — Look out, Nebraska Corrnhusker intramural players, because Carsyn Craig is definitely bringing her “A” game to Lincoln this fall.

Craig crushed her final Class B state tournament match, scoring a 6-0 win over Kearney Catholic to clinch third place among all No. 2 singles players.

The amazing 40-2 mark for C.C. was just one of many McCook highlights during another Class B Top 10 team season.

They didn’t stop with one division at Lincoln as sisters Rowen Wiemers and Roslyn Wiemers took seventh at No. 2 doubles.

Roslyn reached 41 wins overall while Rowen scored 40 besides their 32-6 doubles record.

Sophomore Izzy Clause cleared 30 victories including a first-round sweep at No. 1 singles.

She’ll join the Wiemers in leading McCook’s next terrific tennis team into 2024.

Seniors Jaci Meyers and Abbie Johnson also proudly put together a 26-9 record in their one aseason playing No. 1 doubles. They were just a tie-breaker from forcing their second match into a third set and possible Class B state quarterfinals.

Johnson will continue her tennis career at the collegiate level while most know Meyers will be a force at whatever she now pursues after Bison sports.
