Bison sophomore tees off strong at state golf

GERING, Neb. — McCook sophomore Reid Loop had played even par through the first two holes of today’s Class B state golf on Monument Shadows Golf Course.

That report was seen on nsaahome.org at about 11:30 a.m. today.

The Bison have qualified their entire team following a top three district performance last week.

Sophomore Landon Kmoch finished eight holes at three holes above par.

Kolton Koetter — another soph — was six strokes above par in a tough start to his first state tourney.

Junoir Cole Graham completed six holes with seven strokes above par.

No reports were availabe about McCook senior Eli Kehler, who teed off later than the other Bison at about 11 a.m. mountain time.

The Class B state tourney continues through 18 more holes on Wednesday.

Norris senior Travis Tilford was holding the early Class B at one under par after eigh tholes played.

Ryan Seevers from York and Treyton Baehr of Beatrice were also one under but only played four holes at last report from nsaa.com.

Hitchcock County has also teed off in its Class D state tournament at North Platte along with two Southern Valley state qualifiers.

S.V. Eagle Kamden Bose led area golfers with one above par through six holes which tied him for 10th in ‘D’.

Falcon golfer Brayden Meichert was four above through 10 holes with junior Ashton Parker-Johnson at that same score through three. Watch for updates.
