Wednesday, March 8, 2023

McCOOK, Neb —A tour of city facilities gives a good picture of what the city does to provide for its residents, said the McCook City Manager Monday at the regular McCook City Council meeting.

The McCook City Council Monday night approved Friday, April 28, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Heritage Senior Center, for the tour. The public is invited to attend. It will be designated as a special meeting of the city council, as all members are planning to attend.

The tour will cover all the departments in the city and those attending will have the opportunity to ask questions, said Nate Schneider, city manager.

Also Monday night, the council approved on the third and final reading three ordinances concerning commercial contractor licenses and a voluntary annexation. These were:

— Ordinance No. 2023-3063 providing for an amendment of Chapter 38:  Fee Schedule - Appendix M, Building Regulation Fees (Contractor’s License). This ordinance updates building fee permits in the city.

— Third and final reading of Ordinance No. 2023-3062 amending the City of McCook Code of Ordinances, on Contractor’s License. The amended ordinance outlines qualifications for commercial contractors.

— Third and final reading of a voluntary annexation of Heritage Pointe Addition No. 3, located on West J, requested by the property owner, so that all of the property is within the city’s two-mile jurisdiction.
