Bison teams tangle with tough 'Cats in Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — Both Scottsbluff Bearcat teams were sharpshooters through a varsity sweep of the visiting McCook Bison on Friday.

The Bearcat boys scored 47 before halftime and withstood more than Bison three-pointers for a 75-70 victory.

Scottsbluff's now 14-8 while McCook will take a 13-8 record into its regular-season finale at home against Cozad Thursday night.

The Bearcat girls are now 18-5 as they held McCook to 18 points after halftime of a 65-48 Seniors Night Triumph.

McCook finishes its regular season at 8-13 and now has more than a week before subdistrict play. Sadly, coach Amy Scheil's team has dropped four straight since a 26-4 first quarter led to the big win at Ogallala one week ago.
