Memories of Blind Sam

Dear Editor,

The story about Blind Sam brought back many memories of him and his violin playing on the corner by the bank. I can remember dad tossing a couple nickels in the tattered cigar box for him at a time that the nickels were hard to come by in our family.

Find-A-Grave and his tombstone list his name as Sam O’Connor, but Sam was his middle name. Seventy years later I still cannot pass the old bank corner without thinking of Blind Sam. Pleasant memories.
