Broncos hit a shot at buzzer to beat Wallace
WALLACE, Neb. — Michael Duvel’s one basket was a beautiful buzzer beater for the 28-27 Wauneta-Palisade win over Wallace Thursday evening.
Duvel hit the three-point shot which ended a game where Wallace led through three quarters.
The Broncos outscored Wallace, 12-6, to erase a 21-16 deficit entering those final eight minutes.
Besides Duvel’s three, senior classmate Jacksen Littrel scored 11 team-leading points.
Littrel hit five of his eight field-goal tries for 63 percent.
Sophomores Ashton Wheeler (seven) and Grayden Sutherland (four) teamed for another 11 points.
Soph Aden Acton hit his only two-point shot and junior Kyle Jutten added one crucial free throw in this tight contest.
Littrel pulled down 10 rebounds to achieve a “double double.”
Wheeler swiped four steals and Sutherland grabbed five boards.
