Nine touchdowns? Area winners deliver epic football efforts

ROSELAND, Neb. — Senior Hayden Kramer accounted for nine touchdowns in Maywood-Hayes Center’s 59-50 win over Silver Lake Friday afternoon.

Kramer threw five touchdown passes and ran for another four. He topped what was simply some awesome performances throughout week three from area football teams.

Kramer finished with 476 yards — 276 rushing, 200 passing — while helping the Wolves reach 2-1 this season.

The Wolves unleashed a 26-point third quarter and then held off late Silver Lake rally attempts.

Karmer carried 20 times to his four rushing TDs.

Junior Jeremiah Ingison and sophomore Kody Schwwenk each caught two Kramer scoring strikes.

Ingison gained 109 yards on four catches overall while Schwenk snagged three passes for 27 yards.

Senior Kyler Cox also made his one reception count, taking it 64 yards to another M-HC score.

Cox’s 20 total tackles (six solos) also topped a marathon effort from M-HC’s defense.

Schwenk made 18 total stops, sophomore Carter Morrow 15 and Ingison another 14.

Yet the super efforts certainly did not stop with this Wolves win.

AXTELL, Neb. — The Dundy County-Stratton Tigers hunted their way to 490 rushing yards with a trio topping 150 during this third straight win.

Mauricio Diaz carried 15 times for 171 yards, freshman Ethan Latta needed only eight to total 158 (19.8 per rush) and senior all-stater Corby Horner added 151 on 13 touchdowns.

Together, they accounted for five TDs with Diaz and Latta both scoring two.

Senior Alex Englot added 27 yards on just two carries and one more score.

Andrew Englot made three tackles in Axtell’s backfield to lead a dynamite DC-S defensive effort.

Horner’s 12 total tackles topped the team with 10 each from Andrew (seven solos) and Latta (seven solos also).

Wau.-Palisade 33,

Sioux County 12

WAUNETA, Neb. — The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos are 3-0 following another strong home win Friday afternoon.

Kyle Jutten ran to two first-half touchdowns covering one and 17 yards.

Derik Kennicutt completed all five of his passes including a four-yard strike to Michael Duvel.

Jackson Littrel later ripped off a 43-yard scoring run and Grayden Sutherland’s fumble return capped the big win.

Jutten totaled 125 yards on 15 rushes with Littrel gaining 80 on 12 totes.

IMPERIAL, Neb. — Dominant defense has the Chase County Longhorns at 2-1 as they shut down perennial eight-man tough team Amherst.

ARNOLD, Neb. — The Hitchcock County Falcons scored in every quarter of their closest game through three wins this season.

MAXWELL, Neb. — Junior Kamden Bose passed for 245 yards and Cole Broeker rushed to 85 in a close Southern Valley (0-3) loss Friday.
