Bison, Roughriders take on Lexington golf invite

LEXINGTON, Neb. — Freshman Lainey Peters shot 109 to lead the McCook varsity golfers at Friday’s Lexington Invitational.

Peters placed 32nd among a field led by North Platte’s Karsen Morrison firing a championship round of 69.

Morrison won the Bison Invitational at Heritage Hills just one week earlier.

McCook senior Janessa Dwyer shot 110 which matched Southwest Roughrider team leader Kiana Martin.

Martin placed 37th while Dwyer was listed in 38th place.

Sophomore Haley Beideck shot 132 and freshman Abby Schneider 134 for the young Bison team.

Southwest’s Ella Cure finished at 149 and Ana Cerevil fired 155.

McCook’s Natalie Ruggles needed just one more stroke as she shot 156. Watch for more details all season.
