Tigers devour Plainsmen for second 54-14 win in row

GRANT, Neb. — Make it two-for-two in 54-14 Dundy County-Stratton football wins so far this season.

Senior Corbin Horner’s 220 rushing yards and five touchdowns ignited the Tigers past Perkins County for another 40-point no doubter Friday evening.

Mauricio Diaz added another 112 yards on 18 carries and another score.

The Tigers took a 22-0 lead through one quarter after stomping Sedgwick County, Colo., 54-14 in their season opener on Aug. 25.

Senior Alex Englot caught three Horner passes for 60 yards, taking two of those to six points each past Perkins Plainsmen.

Junior Jackson Kerchal’s 16 total tackles with eight solos stopped Perkins from answering all those Tiger scores.

DC-S unleashed an impressive 13 tackles for loss against the Plainsmen as Kerchal made a team-high five.

Senior Andrew Englot, freshman Carlos Diaz, Mauricio Diz and Horner each made two tackles in the Perkins backfield.

Chase County 14

IMPERIAL, Neb. — Junior Isak Doty’s 237 yards on only nine carries helped the Sidney Red Raiders even their record at 1-1.

The Chase County Longhorns are also 1-1.

BIRD CITY — Senior Drew Withington ran and threw for two touchdowns each in Rawlins County, Kan,’s season opener Friday night.

Sophomore Ryan Sramek also ran to two TDs. Senior Brady Beckman caught three passes for 70 yards and a score.
