Friday, September 2, 2022

BIG SPRINGS, Neb. — Wauneta-Palisade wiped out an early 12-0 deficit and ran away from South Platte, 66-32, Thursday evening.

The Broncos (2-0 record) pulled away behind a combined five touchdowns from Jacksen Littrell and Kyle Jutten.

Unfortunately, a complete scoring summary through hudl.com was not obtained.

Jutten ran three yards for the first W-P TD which began a barrage of 28 unanswered points before the first halfwas finished.

Littrell sparked the second half when he dashed 54 yards for one score then picked off a South Platte pass, taking it 61 yards to more pigskin paradise.

Jutten tallied another touchdown from 19 yards with Littrell’s PAT kick making it 47-18.

Littrell’s 65-yard gallop highlighted the fourth quarter, though Jutten went even farther on his 69-yard kickoff return.

Grayden Sutherland’s three-yard run and a Camden Dewester kickcompleted the Bronco scoring for week two.

Coach Joseph Frecks has seen his team total 122 points during these first two victories.

Available stats showed Littrell carried six times to 154 yards and those two TDs.

Jutten reached 91 yards on 10 rushes.

The Broncos totaled 347 yards though South Platte did gain 462.

Wauneta-Palisade forcing five turnovers was another huge factor as two interceptions became “pick sixes.”

The Broncos can reach 3-0 one week today in a 3 p.m. (MDT) home game against Sioux County at Wauneta.
