CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — The Cambridge Trojans are 4-0 following their 2-0 sweeps of Southwest, Red Cloud and Wauneta-Palisade during Saturday's Cambridge Invitational.

Southwest (3-1 record) took two wins but could not break trough against a Trojan team replacing some top blockers from last year's state tournament-qualifying team.

Cambridge delivered 25-13, 25-19 victories with junior Jalen Kent clobbering eight kills, senior Jacey Kent four and sophomore Erin Johnson another four.

Johnson also made two of five Trojan stuff blocks with one each from sophomore Brylyn Springer, Jalen Kent and junior Leah Downer.

Junior setter Breelle Miller distributed 14 assists and made 10 digs. Junior Bailee Ahlemeyer added a Trojan-best 12 digs.

"The girls went into the game with a lot of fire and determination--they were pumped up from the get go," coach Lauren Carpenter commented. "We focused on our blocking and defense and that's honestly what won us the game was being able to shut their hitters down from the very beginning of the game."
