Versatile MCC softball player going to Coe

MCCOOK, Neb. — McCook Community College graduate Taylor Thein has signed on to play softball at Coe College, an NCAA Division III program in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She appeared in 63 games as a sophomore and batted .372 with nine home runs and 53 RBIs with 31 stolen bases.

For her career, she appeared in 111 games with 319 at bats, 114 runs scored and 115 hits, including 22 doubles, three triples and 14 home runs to go along with 51 steals and a career-batting average of .361.

Earlier this week, she was named to the NJCAA all-Academic Second Team for student-athletes who have grade-point averages between 3.8 and 3.99.

She was on the Dean’s List in the fall of 2021 and the President’s List this spring.
