Loomis tops Pinnacle for title, 'Horns beat MNB

LOOMIS, Neb. — The McCook Pinnacle Bank Legion B team’s still a strong 21-9 despite their 7-5 loss to Loomis for a league championship Monday evening.

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook MNB Seniors 18U watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 29-6 loss to Chase County on Monday.

Chase County scored on a groundout by Mason Wallin and a double by Miguel Jurado in the first inning.

McCook MNB Seniors 18U collected nine hits and Chase County had 13 in the high-scoring affair.

Chase County got on the board in the first inning. Wallin grounded out, scoring one run.

McCook MNB Seniors 18U notched three runs in the second inning. McCook MNB Seniors 18U put the pressure on, lead by singles by Carter Larson and Quentin Terry.

Chase County scored 16 runs in the fourth inning. Tyson Lempke, Nolan Burrell, Jurado, and Emmitt Zuege all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Colin O’Neil pitched Chase County to victory. The pitcher went five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and striking out eight.

Bryson Gullion took the loss for McCook MNB Seniors 18U. Gullion surrendered 14 runs on seven hits over three innings, striking out four.

McCook MNB Seniors 18U tallied nine hits in the game. Terry and Jadon Karp each had multiple hits for McCook MNB Seniors 18U. Terry led McCook MNB Seniors 18U with three hits in three at bats.

Chase County racked up 13 hits on the day. Peterson, Zuege, Jurado, Burrell, and Keelan Cole all managed multiple hits for Chase County.
