Rawlins golfers reach top three at home tourney

ATWOOD, Kan. — The Rawlins County (Kan.) golfers earned a top three place in their home tournament on Saturday.

Junior Isaac Domsch placed third overall with an 84 as the Buffaloes totaled 370 overall behind champion Hoxie’s 352 and Colby at 358.

Goodland finished 39 strokes behind those rival Colby Eagles while Greeley County shot 424 and the Decatur Community Red Devils finished at 438.

Decatur junior Reece Grafel joined Domsch ito be two Gazette-area top 10 medals.

He shot 93 to tie Colby’s Eli Koerperich for eighth place.

Hoxie golfers claimed the top two individual places besides team honors.

Senior Tate Weimer shot 78 and finished four ahead of Hoxie classmate Brady Jones at 82.

Other Rawlins leaders were freshman Amelia Bowles in 14th place (97), frosh Jeb Kastens (98) and junior Reagan Bowels (100). Sophomore Abraham Aguilar finished with 102.
