Positive COVID tests at 4%

McCOOK, Neb. — Less than 4% of COVID-19 tests were positive in the Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department last week, but nearly 80% of them were in Keith County.

Some 42% of all SWNPHD residents are fully vaccinated, and 48% of those who received the minimum recommended dose also received their vaccine boosters.

In the past two years, over 7,300 separate residents of the district have tested positive at least once.

The accompanying graph shows the average daily number of new cases per 10,000 population in Chase, Keith, Red Willow and Furnas Counties from May 5, 2020, to March 13, 2022. The height of the graph corresponds to the average number of new COVID cases proportional to the population of the county.
