Bison facing 'Blazers to tip off Cabela's Classic

SIDNEY, Neb. — The McCook girls and boys resume their great basketball starts at next week’s Sidney Cabela’s Holiday Classic.

Both Bison teams tip off against Torrington, Wyo., on Monday.

The McCook girls (5-2) record are set or a 3 p.m. CST contest, or 2 p.m. in Sidney.

Boys follow at 4:45 p.m. CST or 3:45 p.m.

Torrington boys are 2-4

Senior Keiser Wolfe averages 16 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, a 6’3” senior guard.

Torrington girls are 3-3

5’11” senior Reece Halley averages 17.8 points and nine rebounds per game

5’9” senior Avery West averages 10 points per contest.

Chase County girls are 5-2, lost last game to Bridgeport 57-51 Tuesday night.

Gordon-Rushville girls are 4-2, lost to Chadron 41-40 Tuesday.

5’8” sophomore Haley Johnson averages 20.3 points per game.

Sidney Red Raider girls are 6-1.

Beat McCook 67-36 last year en route to 18-7 season.

Burns, Wyo., Broncos are 3-4.

Sophomore Jordan Greiss scored 20 points in one game this season.

Mitchell girls are 4-3, won 65-30 over Morrill on Saturday.

Junior Grace Martin puts in 10 points per game.

Ord Chanticleer girls are 5-2.

5’10” senior Nikie Nelson averages 18 points and nine rebounds.

Chase County boys are 0-6.

Junior Kade Anderson is averaging 11.2 points and nearly five rebounds per game.

Gordon-Rushville boys are 6-0.

Three double figure scorers in 6’6” junior Jace Nelson at 12.7 points and 8.3 rebounds; 5’8” junior Ellis Livingston at 10.8 and junior Carter Anderson at 10.3.

Coming off a 55-51 win over Chadron (3-4); no other game closer than 16 points.

Sidney boys are 6-1 after a 72-38 win over Holdrege Tuesday; beat Alliance by 25 last weekend at home.

Burns Bronc boys are 4-3; have lost three straight since a 4-0 start where they beat four foes by 120 total points; 80-68 loss to Kemmerer, Wyo., last weekend.

6’4” senior Jackson Kirkbride averages 15.7 points and 5.1 rebounds.

Mitchell boys are 3-4; top player is 6’3” sophomore Carter Reisig at about 15 points and eight rebounds per contest.

Ord boys are 1-5; lost to Centura 67-62 most recently; lone win is 55-50 at West Holt…sophomore 6’1” Blake Hinrichs averages 11.5 points and 5.7 rebounds;

Will Grint is 6’3” senior averaging 11.3 points and 7.2 rebounds.
