After besting Skyhawks, Bison take state runner-up honors
LINCOLN, Neb. — McCook's tennis boys finished second only to two-time Class B champion Mount Michael Benedictine at the state tournament on Friday.
No. 1 doubles Evan Humphrey and Nathaniel Miller dropped an exciting three-set title match while senior Isaac Hinze suffered only his second defeat all season during the No. 1 singles championship match.
McCook still scored 42.5 points which was four points better than Omaha Skutt. The Bison won three of four matches — including two semifinals — over Skutt during earlier matches on Friday.

Sophomore Lincoln Michaelis finished fourth at No. 2 singles. Juniors Peyton Dellevoet and Joel Miller earlier earned fifth at No. 2 doubles, meaning all Bison earned Class B state medals.
