Broncos, 'Riders, Wolves all win on court
WAUNETA, Neb. —Sophomore Peyton Cox’s 15 kills powered the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos to their 10th win this season in four sets over Dundy County-Stratton Tuesday evening.
Senior Alexa Sandman sent another seven shots past the Tiger defense as W-P raised its record to 10-6 entering a big match at Maywood-Hayes Center tonight.
The Broncos also served an amazing 19 aces with six from Sandman, Cali Cox’s five and junior Halle Beardsley four to lead that attack.
No DC-S stats were obtained.
Riders rule Kansas
OBERLIN, Kan. — The Southwest Roughriders delivered two wins at Tuesday’s Decatur Community (Kan.) Triangular.
Bryn Lampe’s 16 assists fueled a 25-15, 25-5 sweep of the host Red Devils.
Junior Caylin Barnett drilled eight kills and classmate Bailey Truksa added five.
Southwest (14-4) went three sets to down a tough St. Francis, Kan. team 23-25, 25-12, 25-14.
Barnett delivered 18 kills and Truksa 10 with six from Kassidy Wilcox.
Wolves win
Olivia Hansen’s 19 hills powered a super Maywood-Hayes Center win over Wallace Tuesday night. The 14-1 Wolves also swept Brady 25-11, 25-9 with Maddie Doyle’s eight kills and 13-of-13 serving from Kiley Hejtmanek. Kyla Patel and Lexi Wood had four kills each.
