Pirates deal Cappel first loss of season at Felling

Cappel Sales Sox watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-9 loss to Pinnacle Bank Pirates on Thursday.

Pinnacle Bank Pirates scored on singles by Parker Brittain, Jaime Samaniego and Caleb Sughroue in the first inning.

Cappel Sales Sox (5-1 record) notched three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Cappel Sales Sox was led by Asher Wilson, Wyatt Benes, and Jacob Barber, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Pinnacle Bank Pirates scored eight runs in the second inning. Pinnacle Bank Pirates’s big inning was driven by singles by Brittain, Grady Miller, and Samaniego.

Miller toed the rubber for 2-4 Pinnacle Bank Pirates. The fireballer allowed three hits and six runs over three innings, striking out six.

Cappel Sales Sox hit two home run on the day. Wilson had a long ball in the first and fourth innings.

Saltwater Hills 14,

Volume Salon Dodgers stayed in it until the end, but Saltwater Hills Angels pulled away late 14-9 for its first win this season Thursday night.

The game was tied 3-3 with Saltwater Hills Angels (1-4 record) batting in the top of the third when Bo Schlegel singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Volume Salon Dodgers opened up an early lead in the first inning when Kooper Rakes homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Saltwater Hills Angels collected ten hits. Tripp Raile, Schlegel, Quinton Meyers, and Lentz all collected multiple hits for Saltwater Hills Angels. Raile led with three hits in three at bats.
