Bison frosh fight past Panthers for 'W'

McCOOK, Neb. — No fewer than nine McCook freshmen sent shots through the nets to earn a 52-50 victory over Hershey Monday afternoon.

Mykuh Hanson’s 13 points and 10 from Adyn Meyer led the balanced Bison. Hershey’s boys are having a fine basketball season as their varsity currently owns a 17-2 record.

Brett Fraker added another huge eight points for coach Philip Psten’s Bison freshmen.

Lincoln Michaelis scored six and Patrick Gross four while three Bison — Kaiden Porter, Mitchell Cole and Spencer Schliep — netted three points apiece.

Evan Mai’s two points helped complete the close Bison win.

Seventh grade

McCook dropped a 34-32 pulse-checker to Gothenburg on Thursday despite Bryson Gullion scoring 13 points and Tristan Campbell six.

Kalen McCorkle’s 12 points fueled a 25-15 Bison “B” team triumph.

Trey Tiller tossed in seven more points.

In “C” action, McCook’s Red Team won an 11-10 free throw cotnest over the White. Isaac Sonenberg’s four points led the Red.

Eighth grade

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte Bulldogs won two of three basketball games from McCook’s eighth-grade boys on Tuesday.

While the Bison “B” prevailed, North Platte scored a 43-26 victory over McCook’s “A” team.

Gabe Gans delivered most of the McCook points with 20. Josiah Wilkinson added four and Quinton Terry totaled two points.

North Platte also took the “C” game from MHS.
