Former football coach, principal, to move to business post

McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Board of Education will be asked to approve hiring Jeff Gross, McCook High School principal who retired this year as head football coach, as the school district business manager, at the regular meeting Monday, Feb. 8, 6:30 p.m. at conference room B at the high school.

Current business manager John Brazell, who was hired three years ago, is retiring this year at the end of June.

The board will also be asked to approve a new contract for Craig Dickes as McCook Senior High principal; he is currently vice-principal at the school.

Other contracts up for board approval Monday night are those for Erin Werkmeister, fourth grade, Rochelle (Shelly) Branch, eighth-grade language arts, Benjamin Weyeneth, high school math and Ben Vetrovsky, business.

The board will also hear from Superintendent Grant Norgaard on the draft of the 2021-22 school calendars. Committee reports and administrative comments are also slated.
