Letter to the Editor

Needs help with roof

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Dear Editor,

I am writing a letter in hopes that you could put my needs in your paper. We have had a stroke of bad luck. My daughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer a year ago, and at the same time, her roofs were damaged from the wind and hail storm.

The insurance did not pay well, covered only material. And, a week later, someone threw pipe bombs at four homes in her h=neighborhood, whack started a fire.

Her and my granddaughter did get out of the home and pets; happened at three in the morning.

She put water hose to house and saved whole house from going up.

The insurance did not pay well again because the old asbestos siding was not covered, but did get material cost again, so left the labor part to me, as I am all she has that way.

I did rebuild the front of the house, which took me forever as I am retired and disabled with three surgeries, two new hips and fusions in my lower back, and I have a heart condition.

I also had a little help and managed to get the house roof torn off and now my problem is my body can’t take any more, and still need 11 squares to put on the garage.

So I was in hope a contractor could volunteer their labor to put it on, as winter is coming.

Thank you,

James Jumps
