LINCOLN, Neb. — The Cambridge Trojans, Southwest Roughriders and Medicine Valley Raiders take on undefeated foes when state playoff football games resume Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the McCook Bison (6-2 record) begin Class B post-season at Plattsmouth (6-2) in a showdown of No. 8 and 9-seeded teams.

McCook will make the 280-mile road trip for a 5:30 p.m. game on the Blue Devils' home turf.

Both teams totaled 41.25 power points following the Bison 41-0 win at Alliance last weekend. However, Plattsmouth was awarded the No. 8 seed among 16 Class B playoff teams.

Other first-round games in"B" feature No. 16 Seward at No. 1 Bennington, No. 12 Scottsbluff at No. 5 Aurora, No. 13 Beatrice at No. 4 Norris, No. 14 Omaha Gross at No. 3 Elkhart, No. 11 Blair at No. 6 Waverly, No. 10 Grand Island Northwest at No. 7 Omaha Skutt and No. 15 Omaha Roncalli at No. 2 Hastings.

The Plattsmouth Blue Devils own wins over Beatrice and Blair this season.

McCook has beaten playoff qualifiers Scottsbluff and Seward.

Unbeaten Dundy County-Stratton (8-0) will be playing only about 30 miles from McCook as the Tigers take on Lourdes Central Catholic (6-2) Friday in Nebraska City.

Opening kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

DC-S kicked off playoffs with a 58-18 rout of Anselmo-Merna on Thursday behind senior Serbando Diaz's five first-half touchdowns.

The LCC Knights have won six straight since an 0-2 start which included 56-30 to powerhouse Falls City Sacred Heart.

LCC rushers Blake Miller (162 yards) and Aidan Aldana (134) — both juniors — scored three TDs each in a 54-34 playoff win over Humphrey Lindsay Holy Family (5-3 record) on Thursday.

The unbeaten tests feature two home games: 9-0 Cross County at Cambridge and 8-0 Central Valley at Medicine Valley in Curtis.

Cross County's Cougars average 59 points per game with no game closer than 56-36 against Clarkson-Leigh in September. On Thursday, Cross County crushed that same opponent, 56-6, to start D-1 playoffs.

The Cambridge Trojans (4-3) wiped out a 16-0 deficit to knock out Sutherland, 36-22, on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Cambridge.

Howells-Dodge is the only team to hold the Cougars under 52 points and still lost 28-0.

Senior Isaac Noyd (1,364 yards) and junior Carter Seim (1,312) both average better than 14 yards a carry.

The Central Valley Cougars from Greeley have topped 50 points five times capped with Thursday's 52-20 playoff beating of Blue Hill. Medicine Valley delivered a 34-14 win over Garden County at Oshkosh Thursday night.

Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Curtis.

Southwest (4-2) has reached the Six-Man playoffs and take momentum from a 50-20 victory over Hampton last week to play at 7-0 Sterling. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. on Friday.

The Sterling Jets are complete opposites of those 0-7 New York Jets.

They average almost 60 points (418 total) and trounced Lewiston, 60-7, last week. Their closest contest all season was a 47-13 battle at Parkview Christian in Lincoln on Sept. 11.

Watch for more playoff details throughout this week.
