Attacking Alzheimer's

Tuesday, August 4, 2020

Dear Editor,

Medicine and science are busy working on coronavirus, cancer an Alzheimers disease.

Cognitive ability of the brain is a common worry when a person suffers a reduction in important mental abilities such as memory and judgment.

No drugs have been discovered that will reverse this decline in mental ability.

Medical experts have discovered that at least 60 conditions are contributing factors to Alzheimers disease. They include poor circulation, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, prolonged stress, lack of sleep, hormonal decline, increased toxins in the air and our diet.

Some people have genetic predisposition to suffering from Alzheimers. However, recent studies have uncovered some ways to preserve our mental abilities.

Physical activity is an essential thing for mental health. In 2014, the Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment uncovered facts showing that people who maintained a healthier lifestyle and were physically and socially active reduced their risk of having Alzheimenrs.

Dr. Dale Bredeson, neurologist and researcher from the University of California in Los Angeles studied 10 people in the early to mid stages of Alzheimers disease. He found that things reversed symptoms in 9 out of 10 patients with Alzheimers. They included:

1. Addressing nutritional needs

2. Avoiding harmful food additives

3. Engaging in physical, mental and social activities.

4. Prayer and meditation.

5. Controlling blood sugar and blood pressure.

6. Getting a good night’s sleep.

7. Optimizing blood flow and hormone levels.

8. Addressing other related health issues.

Health babits reduce the fisk of Alzheimers.
