They are the cure for bad pool play

Several local pool players were recently recognized for winning the Fall Session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball and 9-Ball Pool Leagues.

The Sunday 8-Ball titles were claimed by “Off in the Pocket” and “Rolling 8’s”, both out of Frank’s in Trenton.

Earning Sunday League MVP awards were Janelle Ruzicka, Austyn Hyde, Brandon Burton, Ken Daub, Tony Peters and David Wright.

The Monday 8-Ball championship went to “The Misfits” (lower left photo) out of TJ’s Family Fun Center in McCook including (fourth photo below) Dustin Brown, Shauna Zehnder, Cole Tardif, Steve Dailey, Roemello Grier, Chris Mock, Austin Martin and Ben Wragge.

Monday MVP awards went to Jimmy Tyan, Frank Seybold and Brandon Burton.

Winning the Thursday 9-Ball League was “Dead Balls” from TJ’s Family Fun Center in McCook included (top photo) Deetra Modrell, Marcie Doak, Brendon Malcolm, Shonda Jacob, Dave Giron and Courtney Hampton.

MVP awards went to Kellie Miner, Aaron Leggott and Chad Flaig.

Wendy McKain from Trenton was recognized for surpassing the 500 matches played milestone in 8-Ball.

Winning teams each session advance to the Western Nebraska APA World Qualifiers to compete for trips to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas.
