More drone sightings reported

TRENTON, Neb. -- Mysterious night-flying drones continue to be reported in the area, this time farther into Southwest Nebraska.

Missy Blackman of Palisade posted a video on Facebook showing flashing lights in the sky, one of 19 she could see from her home Monday night.

Hitchcock County Sheriff D. Bryan Leggott said his office had received a report of up to 20 drones, a few hundred feet off the ground near mile post 55 along U.S. 34, between Stratton and Trenton, heading east. The caller called the incident “really creepy,” according to the report. A responding deputy could not confirm any drones in the area.

The Dundy County sheriff reported receiving a couple of reports of drones Monday, which are under investigation, and social media postings also mentioned drone sightings in the Benkelman area.
