HASTINGS, Neb. — Speed never takes a break as Hastings' 84-yard touchdown run, 73-yard TD pass and pick-six interception ignited the 36-0 second half which ended McCook's season, 42-7, Friday evening.

The Bison (5-5 final record) scored first during this Class B state playoff game on quarterback Mark Arp's one-yard run and led 7-6 into quarter three, but Hastings (8-2) caught fire with multiple big plays resulting in five second-half TDs.

Senior Corban Jernigan did clear the 1,000-yard rushing mark to cap his McCook football career. Full details and photos will appear in Monday's McCook Gazette.

Hastings, seeded sixth in Class B, will take on No. 3 Waverly during Class B quarterfinal play on Friday.
