Norma Kay Banzhaf

March 11, 1943 - Sept. 24, 2019

CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Norma Kay Banzhaf, age 76, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Sept. 24, 2019, at Emerald Nursing Home in Cozad, Neb., after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was the youngest daughter born to Chet and Lucille (Kubik) Lamb on March 11, 1943. Norma attended school in Cambridge and graduated with the Class of 1960.

Norma was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Marvin Banzhaf, on Nov. 26, 1960. To this union they had one daughter, Shauna. Marvin preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2018.

Norma was a homemaker and worked beside Marvin on the farm. They grew corn, soybeans, alfalfa and raised cattle, hogs, and chickens. She loved working outside and loved caring for her animals, giving extra care to her dogs and cats. Norma was an excellent cook and loved sharing her baked goods with anyone who would come to visit.Family was important to Norma and she enjoyed spending time with her gran kids.

Norma had a dear heart and would help anyone who needed an extra hand.

Norma was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was baptized and received her First Communion, confirmed and married in the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Lucille; husband, Marvin; and a great-nephew, Chet Wickizer.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Shauna and husband, Jeff Wilken of Smithfield, Neb.; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and her husband, Michael Fitzgerald of Axtell, Neb., and Wyatt Wilken of Smithfield; sister, Shirley Wickizer of Cambridge; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is today until 7 p.m., with family present rom 6-7 p.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge. Rosary will follow, at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cambridge with Father Ken Wehr officiating.

Interment will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.
