NORTON, Kan. — McCook National Bank pitchers teamed to throw a one-hitter in the Seniors’ 8-4 win at Norton, Kan., Friday evening.

Seth Dugger started and threw three hitless innings which followed Trae Koetter’s terrific complete-game 6-0 victory over Gothenburg on Wednesday.

The Kansas hosts scored four unearned runs during one rough fourth inning for MNB.

However, Jordan Chauncy quickly restored order by throwing the final three frames without surrendering a Norton hit.

Chauncy struck out six to cap an 11-K effort from Dugger, Brandon DeRauf and Joel Carter.

The MNB bats provided more than enough support during their third win in four games.

Cameryn Berry singled, doubled and drove home three runs while also scoring twice.

Carter ripped two hits during his strong season debut. He rounded the bases twice as did both Logan Barenberg and Drew Harvie.

MNB (3-3 overall) finished with eight hits as Dugger, Dawson Bredvick, Koetter and Barenberg all singled.

Besides Berry’s three RBIs, Dugger and Koetter drove home one McCook run apiece.

The MNB boys prevailed despite three defensive errors.

They’ll try to extend thiswin streak when Hays, Kan., visits on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. doubleheader.
