Calves, Titans start fast at Felling Field

FELLING FIELD — The McCook Calves 10-and-under baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-5 loss to the Holdrege Titans 10-U as baseball action began at Felling Tuesday night.

Lee Davidson started the game for the McCook Calves.

He lasted 3 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out nine.

Wyatt Benes and Asher Wilson entered the game as relief, throwing 2/3 and 1/3 of an inningrespectively.

Wyatt Benes, Cole Davidson, Caleb Sughroue, Abel Wilson, and Lee Davidson each collected one hit to lead the McCook Calves.

The Calves stole 20 bases during the game as six players stole more than one.

Wilson led the way with five.

Hayden Uerling had the most chances in the field with 11.

The Titans scored four runs in the sixth inning.

The big inning came thanks to a walk by Eli Kidder, a single by Quincy Bell, a groundout by Grayson Popple, and a double from Hudson Otto.

Bell led the Titans with six stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 23 stolen bases.
