PHOENIX, Ariz. — McCook’s own Noah Hofman has been selected to play with 84 elite golfers from across the nation in this weekend’s Patriot All-American Invitational.

The tourney teed off today and Golf Channel will be covering this tourney that tees off on Saturday and continues through New Year’s Eve.

It is an all-America tournament for top golfers at all levels of college.

Hofman was a two-time Class B state golf champion who also helped the Bison boys win that 2016 team state title.

He went on to two outstanding seasons at Southeast Community College in Beatrice where Noah won numerous tournaments.

The grand finale was a No. 2 finish in last spring’s National Junior College Athletic Association golf tournament.

Hofman took his golf talents to another level this fall as he joined the Ottawa University golf program near Phoenix.

He recently finished his fall season with a win at Arizona Christian Invitational where Noah shot six under par for the 36 hole event to tie for first place.

Hofman then played three playoffs holes which he won with an eagle on the par-five hole.

The tournament title capped a super first year at Ottawa where Noah also earned fourth, fifth and 17th-place finishes.

Besides three likely warm and sunny days of holiday golf, the Patriot All-American Tournament also honors many who’ve given military service.

The 84 qualifiers were scheduled to visit Luke Air Force Base in Arizona on Thursday.

Watch for more details and results in the Gazette next week.
