Coyotes claw past Warriors, 51-50

PLEASANTON, Neb. — The Anselmo-Merna Coyotes escaped with a 51-50 win over Arapahoe in Friday’s Pleasanton Pre-Holiday Tournament consolation final.

Junior Yordi Gutierrez delivered another terrific 23 points despite this Warrior narrow defeat.

Senior Carson Schroeder added 11 points and drilled all four of his fourth-quarter free throws to keep Arapahoe close.

However, an eight-point first quarter kept the Warriors from taking control.

Senior Gentry Anderson did return from inury to net another nine points.

Çord Frink delivered all five of his points following intermission.

The Warriors scored 16 points, 13 and 13 during those next three quarters but fell just one short.
