Dumpster crashers: Please get your own

Tuesday, September 11, 2018

To whom it may concern:

Using a dumpster paid for by a business to dispose of your personal trash is theft of services. For the last couple of months, someone has been using my business’s dumpster to dispose of their dirty diapers and spoiled food along with other residential trash.

There are times when the dumpster is so full with other people’s trash that there is no room for mine. The lid is being left open and the flies gather making a mess near my business. This morning, something I had put in my dumpster was moved to a neighboring business’s dumpster and a trash can full of garbage is on the ground behind the dumpster.

The City of McCook provides trash service to all residences in McCook.

Please stop using my dumpster and get your own.

Angela Thomas

  • Ever notice how full the dumpsters at Karrer and Barnett Park are?

  • Get some decent trash service in SW Nebraska, and it won't matter! But, as long as you put up with the crap service, you will put up with this stuff!! Just saying!!!

  • I am the author of this letter and I simply want to say that my service provided by the City of McCook and at my place of business by Dan's is perfectly fine. The City of McCook picks up my trash at home every Monday and Friday. And Dan's are here faithfully every Tuesday.

I'm simply unsure of what the crap service is that you are speaking of.

  • It's the tweakers living in the abandoned farm houses outside of town.
