Lock him up!

Wednesday, July 25, 2018

Dear Editor,

I was on the phone with my best friend from high school (I am almost 62 so we have been friends a long time) talking about how in the world anyone could still be supporting Trump when she said her significant other LOVES Trump. I asked why, and she explained he doesnít like the man but he likes his policies.

I asked what policies are those and clicked off: Putting babies in cages? The Muslim Ban? Dismantling the EPA and denying climate change so corporate-owned factories are free to spew filth into our air and water? Supporting a tax scam that gives billions of dollars to the richest Americans while eliminating support for the middle class and poor including massive cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, all of which Trump promised to leave untouched?

Starting a trade war that lowers our standard of living by, as our Sen. Ben Sasse said this week on PBS, suppressing trade which hurts our farmers and ranchers?

Supporting voter fraud and suppression for political gain, including siding with Russia who hacked our electoral process in an attack on our country not to mention knocking our allies and siding with Russia in a traitorous relationship with a murderous dictator? I could have gone on and on.

Her boyfriend is a nice, intelligent fellow, so I canít understand his support for Trump whose vile, lying, repugnant, ignorant ways are quickly destroying what democracy we have in the USA. I presume he watches Fox News which, studies show, leaves its audience more poorly informed than people who watch no news at all because they are so misinformed.

All I can figure about our politically divided nation is itís like the Yanny/Laurel phenomenon where some people hear Yanny and others hear Laurel. I canít hear either right now because theyíre both drowned out by the megaphone-loud chant LOCK HIM UP!

If what is going on with the orange one is called winning, this country is in trouble.

Of course you trumpettes will stand in line to buy the 2020 re-election flags for the orange one that are now being produced in CHINA, cost to Trump about $1.00. They are being produced now to avoid the new Trump tariffs on goods made in China that will soon be applied. IF you do not believe that just google it, there are numerous photos of the flags being produced in China.

Yep, he's a real business man ( 4 or 5 bankruptcies) and he's really draining the swamp..did nothing but add snakes in the grass to his cabinet. With his wonderful tariffs there will probably be a bunch of farmers around the country that will join him in the bankruptcy court since prices have taken a nose dive on commodities.

Of course he knew nothing of the payoffs to the porn star and playboy bunny, not sure if he can ever keep up with all his lies, that average at least 6 per day. By the way it has been reported that there could be as many as 100 tapes that his "fixer" recorded, that should be interesting!

Oh yea, if I remember correctly some of you trumpettes used to get all bent out of shape because Obama used to play golf once in a while. The orange one has played golf 132 times since taking office. Cost to taxpayers in the 10's of millions of dollars, with the majority of that money going back to the trump business empire. He has spent 22% of his time since taking office on the golf course. By the way, not one time since taking office has he visited troops overseas! Yep cadet bone spurs is a real patriot...LOL.

  • @fit2btied:

4-5 bankruptcies out of 500+ businesses, less than one percent. Can you match that?

Some flags may be made in China, some elsewhere. So what?

Just this morning, EU capitulated on tarriffs. One more step to free trade.

President Donald J. Trump has visited troops overseas, South Korea base.

Who cares about golf when we're winning and the economy is purring. The community agitator golfed while America burned.

Well Chunky, I have owned 2 businesses and have ZERO bankruptcies, so I can more than match the orange one on that.

Flags..the orange one keeps spewing his made in the US speel, but does not do it himself. I would love to see more made in the US stuff, but he does not follow his own ideas. He buys cheap $1.00 flags for his reelection from CHINA. Do as I say not as I do, says the orange one.

If the article in Rueters is what you call EU capitulating on tariffs, I read it different than you. The article says "Trump relents on EU car tariffs, EU chief calls it a major concession from Trump. Trump agreed to refrain from imposing car tariffs. But I'm sure FAUX News reported it differently!

I'll give you that one on visiting the troops in South Korea, but only once? Come on 1 visit to the troops and 132 golf trips, shows his priorities! Oh by the way his budget calls for cuts in healthcare for vets, after giving the billionaires huge tax cuts of $1,500,000,000,000, yea there is 11 zeros on the end of that 1.5, but we have to cut Medicare and Social Security, that everyone has paid into for years and years, but the government continues to rob the funds.

If you call the economy purring, sorry Charlie it is far from purring. Deficit will hit over 1 trillion this year, after giving billionaires 1.5 trillion in tax cuts that haven't done anything for the average wage earner, in fact wages have gone down compared to inflation this year. Just what the billionaires want to see.

Now lets talk about his welfare for farmers that he has caused with his idiotic tariffs, 12 billion, that will have to be borrowed from someone, more than likely the Chinese, since they own most of our debt, so we are going to pay interest to the Chinese on welfare for the farmers caused by trump and his tariffs, now that takes an economic genius!

Now it should be really interesting since it is now reported that comrade Trump knew about the meeting with the Russians in Trump tower, Oh but don't forget he claims he never knew about the meeting, just another lie, that very well could lead to conspiracy to obstruct justice.

I also notice no answer by you on your president and his constant lies, day after day more lies, one of these days all the lying will catch up with the orange one.

But just keep tuning into Faux so called News, and drinking the orange kool-aide.

  • Fellow Americans,

These vicious comments about ones political views are not productive. The why and how one comes about what is best for the nation is in the past. I would hope the future of the nation and especially the following generations would predominate.

Whining as much as one wants has never resolved anything. Accepting the fact yesterdays are yesterdays and one must move forward. I think a read of " Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson M. D. is highly recommended.

Much of the pain being experienced currently by agriculture producers is because of the continued over production of products due to government payments.

Why not look at the positives that have come out of the last 18 months of the current administration rather than dwelling on the perceived negatives.

We all can be safer and more prosperous working together than focusing on what one perceives as a negative.

  • Yes, commodity prices are depressed due to overproduction. Mountains of corn are still on ground at local elevators. The solution, raise more corn.

All the anger and hatred coming from the left is there simply because their candidate didn't win. Imagine what our world like if she did? The status quo would be happy.

Put down the outrage, anger, and hate and enjoy the ride.

  • The trump administration is implementing a fascist regime. Wake up United States of America.

  • Greater economic freedom? Less smothering regulations? Fairer trade? 4.1 % GDP growth?

Not the things facist regimes do. Sorry.

    Again, who's tired of winning?

  • Chunky peanut butter, I am concerned about trump's failure to release his tax returns, lying about why because the IRS said there is no reason not to release his tax returns even though trump said he could not release them as he was being audited. I'm concerned because the vast majority of his tax cuts went to the super wealthy, I am concerned because the working people's wages are going down while the vast majority of new wealth is going to the very wealthy, I am concerned because Eric trump declared, when most U.S. banks no longer were willing to loan them money because of their numerous failures to pay their bills because they, the trump's could get all the money they wanted from the Russians,I am concerned because one of the DeVos family businesses has direct computer connections to Putin's daughter's "research facility", I am concerned because people were murdered at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood because some nut believed the fake video created and promoted by far right alleged Christians,I am concerned that over 300,000 lie filled posts were created and spread by Russian bots to discredit Hillary Clinton in the last presidential election one of which almost resulted in a massacre at a pizza place in Washington DC because the lie was spread the Clintons were running a pedophile ring out of the basement of the pizza place....oops, the establishment does not have a basement (I am no fan of Hillary but I believe in fair and honest elections.) I am concerned that for every 2 or 3 cents poor people get in welfare the feds give corporations a dollar, I am concerned that innocent babies and children were seperated from their parents who were LEGALLY seeking asylum in our nation, I am concerned because the inept Russian lapdog has repeatedly insulted our allies while sucking up to totalitarian leaders. I am concerned that the NRA, an organization I used to fully support, used a Russian operative to help funnel Russian money to republican political candidates including trump. Look at Kansas, Wisconsin, Michigan and throughout much of the red south to name a few to see the disasters created under far right leadership, then look at Minnesota and California to see the positive results of progressive leadership. BTW, undocumented workers do not vote or collect welfare in the state of California (they want to work they won't apply for welfare or to vote as that creates a greater chance they will be deported) I know as I live here and so greatful to have escaped the narrow minded bigotry so prevalent in southwest Nebraska. Say what you want about Jerry Brown but just like Obama brought this nation back from the brink of another Great Depression caused by republican economic policies of the previous president Jerry Brown brought California back from the brink of bankruptcy cause by uncooperative republicans in the California state legislature and as Brown's final term comes to an end the state is solvent and has a 6 billion dollar rainy day fund to help the state get through tough economic times.

This list could go on for quite sometime but find folks on the far right choose to believe trump's and Russian lies over facts. I find it astounding that so many people in this land that I love will believe Russian lies and vote for Putin's lap dog. You obviously don't have clue as to what liberals think or feel, I am concerned at the totalitarian direction of our great nation, not angry. All the lies spread by the far right and their Russian accomplices greatly concern me.
