Letter to the Editor

More class?

Thursday, July 5, 2018

Dear Editor,

Mr. Buckley Haag showed that he has a little more class than Commissioner McNutt by resigning his elected position.

Apparently, Mr. McNutt and the people he represents have little to no respect for public office.

I guess in Red Willow County, McCook in particular, if you are going to endanger the image of the public office you hold you should commit your crime against children.

It also helps to be friends with the County Sheriff and County Attorney so they can totally ignore your transgression.

The same people that complain about Hillary Clinton getting away with her transgressions have no problem with Lady Justice looking the other way for Commissioner McNutt.

Sincerely,

Andrew White

Rural Bartley, Neb.

  • This is really just small town type corruption. And, I think there's a strong correlation between the rise of corruption and immorality by Christians and the downfall of Christianity. When I was young more than 95% of people were Christian. Now it's probably under 70%. Look at what the Christians are like. Who would want to join them.

  • Wow, do we have so weird and disgruntled people living around here. Seems someone didn't get his way about something to do with the county and is now crying. The other comment makes no sense, what does a Christian have to do with anything?

  • It has a lot to do with the decline of Christianity. Christianity is a declining religion. Probably the only declining religion. It's because of the way the Christians are.

  • Harvard research says otherwise. Christianity stays pretty much constant between 72-76%. Some churches, liberal churches, are failing in a big way, but the followers simply move to another church. And there is the separating of wheat from the chaff.
