Pinnacle boys pound past Lex

Wednesday, June 13, 2018

LEXINGTON, Neb. — Alex Anthony and Cameron Werkmeister both batted in four runs to lead a powerful 12-5 Pinnacle Bank win over Lexington Sunday afternoon.

Layne Stevens scored four runs as coach Greg Larson’s team evened its record at 4-4 with a third consecutive win.

Werkmeister pitched four innings when he wasn’t delivering those four RBIs. He did walk five, but only gave up two hits and struck out three.

Pinnacle Bank built a 6-0 lead through the first two frames to follow up two other dominant wins earlier last week.

Jayden Karp crushed a team-high three hits and drove home two.

Werkmeister drilled a double with one single.

Isaac Hinze and Anthony both singled twice with Hinze rounding the bases for three more Pinnacle runs.

Ian Brown singled, drove in one and scored twice to provide another P.B. highlight.

Hinze pitched the final inning and fanned two more Lex batters.
