Lee E. “Doc” Franklin

McCOOK, Neb. — Lee E. “Doc” Franklin, 72, of rural Jennings, Kan., died Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Community Hospital in McCook.

He was a retired stock broker for Merrill Lynch and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo H. and Charlotte J. (Cilek) Franklin.

Survivors include his son, Christian Franklin (Kristen) of Hopkinton, Mass.; sister, Jeanne Hooper (Dr. Allen) of Oberlin; and two grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be Saturday, March 10, 2018, 11 a.m. at Big Timber Cemetery in rural Jennings, with Military rites by the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Decatur County Food Pantry and sent in care of Pauls Funeral Home, 121 N. Penn Ave., Oberlin, KS 67749. Online condolences may be left at www.paulsfh.com.
