Indians sweep four from Lamar, Hastings

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook Community College’s baseball team evened its record at 18-18 with two well-earned wins over visiting Lamar (Colo.) College Saturday afternoon.

The Indians won game one, 4-2, thanks to Chase Adams pitching five shutout innings during his strong complete-game victory.

Adams didn’t walk a single Runnin’ Lope while striking out eight in seven innings.

Michael Sookdeo provided the most offense as he homered, drove home two runs and scored one.

Jacob Sanford singled twice with a run and RBI. Jason Hill doubled, singled and scored another key run.

Runs arrived more frequently during game two. McCook led 5-3 through one frame and 6-5 after two.

However, the Indians again pitched five scoreless innings to close a 7-5 win.

Kaden Sitzman earned his third win this season with Tony Pacheco pitching two and two-thirds for his first save.

Pacheco allowed just one hit and struck out two.

Catcher Dylan White’s two for three, two RBIs and run led the seven-hit McCook attack.

Leadoff man Keanu Van Kuren homered to provide the only extra-base hit.

Dominic Paratore rounded the bases twice while Sanford and Tanner Zeggil each delivred one RBI. The Indians followed an 8-1, 6-5 sweep of Hastings’ JV team on Thursday.
