OBERLIN, Kan. -- Charles Ernest Fortin, 50, died Thursday (Feb. 4, 2017), at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.

He was born Jan. 15, 1967, in Oberlin to Jack Eugene and Mildred May Fortin. He grew up in Oberlin and Aurora, Colo. He graduated from Aurora High School. He was a clerk at Doller General in Oberlin.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oberlin.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Fortin; two half-sisters, Sandra (Morton) Verzani and Linda (Morton) Whitecotton; and grandparents, Ernest andMartha May and Everett and Rose Fortin.

Survivors include his father, Jack E. Fortin of Oberlin; one brother, Everett Fortin of Spokane, Wash., and one half-brother, Daniel Morton of Missouri.

Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Services are Friday, Feb. 10. 2017. 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Bradley Rick officating. Interment is at St. John's Cemetery in rural Oberlin.
