100th birthday

Come help celebrate Edna Ficken's 100th birthday at an open house at Brookdale McCook on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. She was born Sept. 28, 1916, at her grandparents' home, south side of Eustis, Neb. After graduating Eustis High School, she taught in rural schools until her marriage to Herman Ficken in 1938. They enjoyed living and farming in the Eustis area for many years, before they moved to their retirement home in Elwood, where they remained busy and active. In 2004 they moved to Willow Ridge/Brookdale in McCook, where Edna continues to make her home. Her family includes children, Janet and Bob Hein, Joan and Larry Burke and Carole and Bob Dreher. She has seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Cards of congratulations will reach her at 1500 East 11th Street, Apt. No. 44, McCook, NE 69001.
