Selma "Sam" J. Brunswick

McCOOK, Neb. -- Selma "Sam" J. Brunswick age 72, of McCook, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

She was born in McCook on March 13, 1944, to Eugene E. and Violet (Krieger) Martin.

Selma attended school in McCook. She was married to Marion Eugene Brunswick on April 27, 1968. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2014.

Sam was employed over the years at restaurants in McCook and managed many of them, such as at the Chief and Godfathers Pizza. Later she worked at the Sweet Briar Clothing Store and also Conrad's Clothing.

Sam was a member of the Norris Avenue Church. In her younger years she was an accomplished oil painter. She enjoyed playing card, gardening, yard work antiques and cooking. She was known for her chili and lasagna. Sam belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles of McCook.

Sam was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her three daughters: Pamela and husband, Steve Brunswick of Cottage Grove, Ore.; Tamera Clapp of McCook; Corina Fritz and Ben Trosper of McCook; son; Christopher Brunswick of McCook; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are planned for Friday, July 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Memorials may be left in her name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel. Friends may sign the o-line guest book or leave condolences at herrmannfh.com.
