McCOOK, Neb. -- Clarke Doug Constant, age 68, passed away June 1, 2016, at his home in McCook.

Clarke was born May 27, 1948, in Decatur, Ill., to Clarke A. and Mildred Eileen (Tankensley) Constant. He was an only child.

Clarke graduated from Tucson High School in Tucson, Ariz., in 1966 and then attended Arizona State University receiving a BA in Engineering. He worked as an environmental engineer in the Mining Industry.

He married Sandra Wheeler on Nov. 28, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple moved to McCook in 2000.

Clarke enjoyed woodworking and building things with his hands. He built many clocks and several model ships over the years. He was a member of the McCook Eagles. He was an exceptional father and grandfather and an even more exceptional husband.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandra, in February of 2016.

Clarke is survived by his son, Scott (Rosemarie) Wheeler of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughters, Debra (Kevin) Striedy of Queen Creek, Ariz. and Tamara (Jim) Young of McCook; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be in Arizona at a later date.
