OBERLIN, Kan.-- Martin D. LaRue, 83, of Oberlin, formerly of Jennings, Kansas, died Sunday (Feb 21, 2016), at Good Samaritan Society-Decatur County in Oberlin.

He was born Aug. 8, 1932, near Melverne, Osage County, Kansas, to Ray L. and Abbie (Bass) LaRue Sr. He graduated from Sheridan Community High School in 1952.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Darlene Hartzog on Jan. 1, 1956, in Jennings. He worked for LaRue Tank Service.

He was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church and American Legion Post No. 351.

He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Ray LaRue Jr. and Donald LaRue; and sisters, Wanda Fisher and Gloria LaRue.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene LaRue of Jennings; sons, Troy (Anne) LaRue of Fulton, Missouri; sister: Abbie Jean (Virgil) Henry of Kirwin; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at Jennings United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ed Woods and Gordon Pettibone officiating. Interment is at the Jennings Cemetery.

Vistation is today, Feb. 23, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, after 8 a.m. at the church in Jennings. Online condolences may may be left at www.paulsfh.com
