KEARNEY, Neb. -- John L. Behnke was born in McCook, Nebraska, March 14, 1945, to Bernard and Daisy (Anderson) Behnke. He passed away Oct. 25, 2015, in Kearney.

John is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Robert Behnke of Omaha, Nebraska, and daughters, Rhonda (Mark) Pitts of Casper, Wyoming, Antina (Chris) Jones of Wahoo, Nebraska, and Heather (Nate) Bennett of Kearney; grandchildren, Courtney, Marcus and Kylee Jones and Ella Rucker; brothers, Jerry (Iva) Behnke and Don (Donna) Behnke of Indianola, Nebraska, and special nephew, Ron Teel of Gettysburg, South Dakota.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Vernon and Robert; sisters, Florence Austin and Helen Schamp; and grandson, Russell Pitts.

As per John's wishes, no service will be held.
