GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Donna Ruth Carlson, 66, of Grand Island, passed from this life Monday, Sept. 21, 2015.

Celebration of Life Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Reverend Michael Reiners will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home of Grand Island.

Donna was born Jan. 13, 1949, in McCook, the daughter of Donald and Doris (Kleint) Meints.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Rod; their children, Scott Carlson of Grand Island, Angie (Eric) Peters of Omaha and Beth (Tim) Francis of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law, Connie (Ted) Stuckey of Lincoln; a second mother, Charlotte Meints of Oberlin, Kansas; sister, Marcia Stecklein of Topeka, Kansas; brothers, Mark Walinder of Denver, Colorado and Mike (Glenda) Walinder of Cambridge, Nebraska; eight beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Kaitlyn, Joelle, Calista, Brynn, Drew and Kellan; numerous nieces and nephews; and more friends than can be counted.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Stan Meints.

Donna grew up in Culbertson, Nebraska, graduating from Culbertson High in 1967. On March 4, 1972, she married Rodney Carlson in Culbertson.

Donna's family meant everything to her. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she always needed to be in touch and stay connected with each and every one of them.

Donna's faith was a vital part of her life. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she belonged to "Women in Mission" and was a part of the Comfort Dog Ministry team.

Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church.
