CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- Delores "Dee" J. Measel, age 64, of Cambridge, passed away at the Cambridge Manor July 16, 2015.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on Dec. 23, 1950,to Kenneth C. and Oskerett K. (Mullins) Waters.

Dee lived in Michigan, California and Colorado, before settling in Nebraska in 2003. Dee had been employed by Apple Computers as a quality control person and worked as a machinist for FMC. Her real passion was as an over-the-road truck driver for 10 years. She and her life partner, Theada Hill, or Nana as the kids knew her, traveled throughout the United States caring freight. It was a fluke that they moved to Cambridge and bought a house.

Dee enjoyed yatzee, bingo, reading and word search puzzles. She was very proud of her two grandchildren, Kamiell and Justin.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents and life partner, Theada Hill.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristal Waters; two grandchildren, Kameill and Justin, all of Cambridge; two brothers, Anthony Waters of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Donald Waters of Ventura, California; and sister, Robin Colwell of Clovis, California.

A gathering of friends and family will be on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.

Memorials may be left in her name at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Lockenour-Jones Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
