Kiplinger hosting high school rodeo

McCOOK, Neb. -- The 2015 Nebraska High School Rodeo competition will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Kiplinger Arena on the Red Willow County fairgrounds in the 1500 block of West Fifth in McCook, Nebraska.

A couple of hundred contestants are expected to compete in roping and cutting, barebacks and saddle broncs, pole pending and barrel racing, and bull riding.

Coordinators schedule cutting at 6 p.m., Friday.

Saturday's and Sunday's schedules start at 9 a.m., with goat tying, (first and second session of some events) calf roping, breakaway roping, barebacks, pole bending, steer wrestling, saddle broncs, team roping, barrels and bull riding. The bull riding precedes goat tying on Sunday.

Sunday's schedule starts with church in the grandstand at 8 a.m.

Admission is $5 each day.
