McCOOK, Neb. -- A Trenton man arrested in January on drug charges, after being spotted driving through town on a tireless rim, was sentenced to jail time last week. The offender, 39-year-old Jonathan Daniels, was ordered to serve 180 days in jail with credit given for 45 days already served during a sentencing hearing in Red Willow County District Court.

Daniels was arrested shortly after the McCook Police Department received a report of a vehicle driving on a tireless rim. Responding officers followed rim marks left on West 4th Street along Westridge Parkway to a residence at 902 West M Street, according to court documents. Daniels was behind the wheel of the vehicle, a 1995 Eagle Vision, which sported a tireless rim on the passenger rear wheel.

He was subsequently charged with a Class IV felony for possession of methamphetamine and an infraction for possession of marijuana and accepted a plea agreement in March admitting guilt to the felony while dismissing the infraction.

The vehicle Daniels was driving was also reported stolen by its owners as Daniels was being booked on the drug charges.
