In unusually warm January temperatures this week, Charlie Collins, right, and his Red Willow County fairgrounds crew prepare for the foundation of the new "Alice Kiplinger Building" on the county fairgrounds in McCook, Nebraska. The Alice building will be a warm-up arena and multi-purpose building measuring 130x130 feet and covering 16,900 square feet. The new building completes a triangle of horse arenas given to the county by McCook-area rancher Tom Kiplinger. Alice Kiplinger was Tom's mother.

  • The Kiplinger brings hundreds, maybe thousands, of visitors to our county every year. Thanks Tom!
